Are we missing something???

Finally, it’s Friday, the much awaited day of a week. This has been a long week, inspite of the fact that there was a holiday on Jan 1st. It has been scrolling by at a snail’s pace, that I began to wonder, if it would ever get over. Friday evenings are the best, and time remains so till Sunday afternoon. After that the graph drops down. Ever wondered why its like this?

There were times, while in school, when I waited for Mondays to come. Maths classes were the best. Algebra and Trigonometry always fascinated me. It was a pleasure, solving those problems. Expansion for (x + y)2 and the problems with sin, cos and tan, were always interesting to ponder over. Then there was the Games period. It used to start with jogging round the football ground, and then it was a game of our choice. Starting with professional games like throwball or volleyball and ending with totally girlish games like run & catch or skipping in one’s or groups, forwards or backwards.

Coming back to class for the last period of the day, drenched in sweat, we used to have another mission in front of us. It didn’t have anything to do with Maths or History or Chemistry. It was the stupendous task of convincing our teacher to give us the last period free!!!! With 30 + ‘Please’ es echoing through the class and drifting out to the corridor, few of our teachers used to agree. There were also teachers, who used to keep their grounds and with one look or bang of the duster, used to send the entire class to an eerie silence.

The bus-ride back home and the delicious food by Mummy added enormous points to the day’s graph. After studies, dinner and the ritualistic cartoons, slumping down into the bed with a novel in hand, made the grand finale.

The memories of those days are still painted bright. As years passed by, have the colors started turning grey? Or have we allowed the colors to turn grey?

Amidst the hectic schedule of work and life, I keep wondering, are we missing out something in life? Or is life missing us?

I guess in the Race of Life, we are missing something. So, sit aside and think. Bring back the child in us and Lets turn the colors back to bright.
